Anne Graham Lotz’s Son Is in ICU with COVID: ‘Please Pray for’ His ‘Swift Healing’

The son of evangelist and author Anne Graham Lotz is in a hospital ICU battling COVID-19, according to a Facebook post by Lotz, who requested prayer for his health.

Jonathan Lotz, an evangelist and the head of Jonathan Lotz ministries, is in critical condition, according to another post. Anne Graham Lotz is the daughter of the late evangelist Billy Graham.

Anne Graham Lotz, in a Facebook post on Sunday, said her son is in an ICU. She shared the content of a text she had received from him.

Genesis 41:52 came to mind when I read the following text Jonathan sent me this morning. He is being fruitful in the land of his affliction: ‘I am physically exhausted yet Spiritually overflowing! I am continually pouring over the Psalms of Ascent (120-134) in ICU. I have had the privilege of sharing Jesus with the ER & ICU staff! What a Savior! God is so good!’

“Please be encouraged that God is hearing and answering your prayers – just please don’t let up,” Lotz wrote. “Pray he will not have to go on a ventilator, that his oxygen levels would increase, that his lungs will be strengthened, healed and that his health will be fully restored – with no long-term complications. My heart is filled with gratitude for your prayers.”

On Saturday, she revealed he was in critical condition. She also mentioned a comforting verse she had read in a devotional, the Daily Light.

“Fifty years ago, I could hold my son in my arms. Now I have placed him in the arms of Jesus. He has been hospitalized with COVID and is in critical condition,” Lotz wrote. “The verses last night in the Daily Light were perfect: ‘Brethren, pray for us’ 1 Thessalonians 5:25. And James 5.16 – ‘Pray for one another that you may be healed.’ I am asking you to please pray for Jonathan’s swift healing and recovery. For the glory of God’s great name. Thank you.”

Jonathan Lotz directs Jonathan Lotz Ministries, which is an “evangelistic ministry committed to preaching the Word of God and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a world in need of hope,” according to its website.

“He has preached the Gospel across the United States, including North Carolina where he makes his home, as well as in foreign countries,” the website says. “He has served on staff with the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association; the Fellowship of Christian Athletes; Build the Village, a missions organization in East Africa; and Park Cities Presbyterian Church (PCA).”
