Israeli aircraft crashes near Greece, 2 killed – report

The bodies of two people were reportedly recovered after a small private Israeli aircraft crashed near the eastern Aegean island of Samos on Monday evening, according to Greek media.
The plane, a Cessna 172, reportedly departed from Israel and “encountered a problem on the approach to the island’s airport.”
It is unclear what this problem was, though evidence seems to point to a technical issue with the engine, CNN reported.

According to reports, a search and rescue team has been dispatched, including local volunteers.

The victims, a man and a woman, have yet to be identified, though ZAKA workers confirmed they were Israeli, according to haredi news outlet Kikar Hashabbat.
There were no other passengers on the plane, reports indicated.
This is a developing story. Please check back for more updates.
