2 injured after clashes break out in Nablus as Jews visit Joseph’s Tomb

Clashes and firefights broke out between Palestinians and Israeli security forces on Sunday night as about 500 Jewish worshipers visited Joseph’s Tomb in Nablus in the West Bank, with two Border Police officers injured by Palestinian rioters.

As the Israeli forces and worshippers entered the city, dozens of Palestinians rioted, throwing rocks and explosives towards their vehicles and firing towards security forces, according to Border Police.
Border Police responded to the riots with live fire and riot dispersal methods. One officer was lightly wounded by an explosive and transferred for treatment in an IDF clinic. Another officer was injured lightly by a stone that hit his face. The officer was treated at the scene and continued operating.
Amid the firefight, damage was caused to an armored vehicle belonging to Border Police.
All of the worshippers have left the Joseph’s Tomb complex and the disturbances have ended.
Clashes were also reported in Bidu, northwest of Jerusalem, on Sunday night. Seven Palestinian suspects were reportedly arrested in towns in the Bidu area.
The clashes come less than a day after five Palestinians were killed and two IDF soldiers were injured after armed clashes broke out between Palestinians and Israeli security forces during a wave of anti-Hamas operations across the West Bank.
