Biden’s bungled border security is a national security crisis:
The crisis he has sparked will do lasting damage
If I lived in poverty under an oppressive government in Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, or Asia, I’d want to go to the United States. So, I can’t criticize those hundreds of thousands of people now streaming across the southern border.
But I can criticize an American administration that – even at a time of pandemic and narco-terrorism – prefers not to know who is coming into the country or what those entering intend to do here. “It is simply common sense to view border security as national security,” Mark Morgan, who served as chief of the U.S. Border Patrol in the Obama administration, recently wrote in the journal Imprimis.
“The Biden administration has created a disaster,” added Mr. Morgan, currently a visiting fellow at the Heritage Foundation. “It did so by methodically – and by all indications intentionally – undoing every meaningful border security measure that had been in place.”
With confidence and persistence, President Biden and his deputies have misrepresented the situation. At his first press conference, Mr. Biden called the out-of-control border surge a “seasonal increase” that “happens every year.”
In March, Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas asserted: “Our message has been straightforward – the border is closed.” This was at a time – April 2020 to April 2021 – when there was a 900 percent increase in illegal immigration. —>READ MORE HERE
Biden’s America headed toward Third World status:
The U.S. border wall needs to be built
About a decade ago I lived in the West African nation of Ghana. It is a wonderful place with delightful people. For those who may be unfamiliar, Ghana isn’t exactly third-world but is most certainly nowhere near on par with economic industrial powerhouses from western Europe or the United States. Ghana would best be described in economic terms as an emerging mixed economy. Regardless of that official designation, if you dropped off the average American in nearly any part of Ghana, that person’s description would likely include the words “third world country.”
Ghana is a presidential constitutional democracy with a parliamentary system. Like the United States, it regularly holds scheduled elections and is dominated by two major political parties. For the past thirty years, Ghana has maintained one of the freest and stable governments on the African continent. As good as that may sound, saying it is one of the most stable governments in Africa is a bit like offering a back-handed compliment to a 50-year-old woman by telling her she is attractive “for her age.” In both cases the context is important.
Their two-party system emphasizes a major political divide. The methods employed by the major parties in their efforts to undermine the other are often at the expense of the people of Ghana. It is for that reason that despite all of its relative stability, Ghana will remain firmly entrenched in the lower second tier of the world economy. —>READ MORE HERE
