Eating healthy to fix the planet
The world’s food system is thought to be responsible for approximately one-third of all greenhouse gas emissions, with animal agriculture responsible for 18%. To put this into perspective, exhausts from transportation are responsible for 13% of all greenhouse gas emissions.
So what is Israel doing to help people eat a more plant-based, flexitarian diet?
As scientist Johan Rockström, who collaborated with David Attenborough in the making of the documentary said, eating a healthy, flexitarian diet “might be the single most important way of contributing to save the planet.” In this regard, Israel is contributing significantly.
