GOP Rep. Roy on Border Crisis: ‘Where Is the President?’; GOP Rep. Cammack: Biden Is a ‘Trafficker-in-Chief’; 2021: Border Patrol Agents Faced Historic Level of Line-of-Duty Deaths

GOP Rep. Roy on Border Crisis: ‘Where Is the President?’:

Monday on Fox News Channel’s “The Faulkner Focus,” Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX) wondered where President Joe Biden and members of his administration were as the U.S.-Mexico border worsened.

Roy said the border crisis isn’t a result of failed policy but rather “a purposeful dereliction of duty.”

“While AOC is hanging out in Miami sipping cocktails, hypocritically without a mask on, you know, complaining about policies, where is she going down to the border as she was a couple of years ago in a white pantsuit by a chainlink fence crying and gesturing next to a fence?” Roy asked. “Where is she crying over the 51 dead migrants when that van had an accident a week or two ago because of the danger that’s going on with cartels moving people? … The human smuggling that’s occurring in the district I represent in San Antonio where people are being moved up I-35 in the corridor there.”

He continued, “Where is the vice president? Where is Mayorkas? Where is the president? They don’t care. This isn’t about failed policy. This is about a purposeful dereliction of duty, a purposeful refusal to execute the laws. And you have more crossings in the last three months of the last fiscal year — more than twice as many as when President Trump was there. I think almost half a million apprehensions that we know of in the last quarter of 2021. This is shaping up to be the worst year ever. And so, we need to actually change our policies.” —>WATCH INTERVIEW HERE

GOP Rep. Cammack: Biden Is a ‘Trafficker-in-Chief’:

Saturday, during an appearance on FNC’s “Fox News Live,” Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL) criticized the Biden administration for its policy approach on securing the U.S.-Mexico border and stemming the flow of illegal immigrants across the border.

The Florida GOP lawmaker vowed House Republicans would respond if they took control of the House of Representatives after the 2022 elections.

“This is the ‘Where’s Waldo?’ administration,” she said. “No one can be found. No one wants to take responsibility. You have a border czar in VP Harris, who has done close to nothing to stem the flow. You’ve got Secretary [Alejandro] Mayorkas, who I have personally questioned three times in congressional hearings, who has said that he thinks they’re doing a marvelous job, that the border is secure. Of course, the data that you just showed points to the fact that, no, the border is not secure. And you cannot have a secure nation unless you have secure borders. And if you don’t have secure borders, you’re not a safe, sovereign nation.” —>READ MORE/WATCH INTERVIEW HERE

2021: Border Patrol Agents Faced Historic Level of Line-of-Duty Deaths:

More Border Patrol Agents died in the line of duty during 2021 than in any other time since the agency’s inception. The line-of-duty deaths of 15 Border Patrol agents mark a grim milestone in the agency’s history.

A total of 15 Border Patrol Agents died in the line of duty throughout the year. The leading cause of death for agents during 2021 was COVID-19. Line-of-duty deaths in the Border Patrol increased by 275% compared to 2020.

Of the 15 agents who died in 2021, 13 died in the line of duty as a result of COVID-19. Two were killed in vehicle-related accidents. The record-breaking line-of-duty deaths eclipse the previous record set in 1998 when six Border Patrol agents died while on duty. The combination of a historic migrant surge during a pandemic resulted in severe overcrowding in detention and processing facilities. Most Border Patrol facilities and processing centers routinely exceeded recommended COVID-19 capacity levels throughout the year. Some were in excess of eight times the recommended COVID-19 detention levels.

Although testing for COVID-19 was not mandatory for migrants apprehended along the southwest border, thousands transferred from the Border Patrol to ICE and later released were tested and found to be COVID-19 positive. As of October, according to a law enforcement source, more than 16,000 migrants tested positive and were later released into the United States. —>READ MORE HERE
