Report Finds Nearly Half of American Voters Believe President Biden Should Be Impeached

A new Rasmussen Reports poll says that about half of American voters believe that President Joe Biden should be impeached because of mismanagement of issues at the U.S-Mexico border and how he handled the withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan.

According to the Washington Examiner, the poll showed that 50 percent of respondents support impeachment, including 34 percent of Democrats.

The poll also found that if Republicans take back control of the U.S. House and the U.S. Senate in the upcoming midterm elections, 45 percent of surveyed respondents expect impeachment proceedings to begin.

Previously, former President Donald Trump was impeached twice by the House. The impeachment was never approved in the Senate.

Of those impeachment proceedings, the poll said that 47 percent saw the impeachment of Trump as a “bad thing.” About 36 percent said it was a “good thing,” and 16 percent said it “did not make much difference.”

Some House and Republican lawmakers have already called for Biden to be impeached, but the House, which is predominantly made up of Democrats, has dismissed the demands.

In late January, Steve Bannon, ex-adviser to Trump, said Biden would be impeached in November because of his management of the border.

“You have stood down ICE and you’ve stood down Border Patrol, and guess what? That’s the impeachment hearing I want to hear.

“You’re going to sit there for day after day and week after week, and we’re going to bring the witnesses,” he said on his podcast. “We’re going to bring the witnesses of what you did to this country and what you did on the southern border.”

According to Customs and Border protection data, some 2 million people were arrested trying to illegally enter the country in 2021 at the U.S.-Mexico border. In 2019, that number was about 1 million.
