Report Claims Fauci Granted Taxpayer Dollars to Research Using Aborted Fetal Tissue

A new report suggests that millions of taxpayer dollars were used to fund research using the fetal tissue of aborted babies.

The report was released by the nonprofit organization, The White Coat Waste Project, on Friday. According to its website, the group describes itself as “a taxpayer watchdog group representing more than 2 million liberty-lovers and animal-lovers who all agree: taxpayers shouldn’t be forced to pay over $20 billion every year for wasteful and cruel experiments on dogs, cats, monkeys, and other animals.”

The White Coat Waste Project revealed the findings of an investigation probing experiments performed by the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

“A new White Coat Waste Project (WCW) investigation has uncovered that the NIH is actively funding over $27 million of research approved to use Human Fetal Tissue, also known as HFT. That $27 million is just the beginning — the NIH expects to spend over $88 million total on HFT this year,” the group explained in a blog post.

So far, the NIH has spent $21.6 million on fetal tissue research, which accounts for 80 percent of the award granted to the agency by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), led by Dr. Anthony Fauci, to conduct these types of experiments.

Subsequently, NIAID distributed the funds to academic institutions to perform the research. For instance, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill conducted an experiment using $727,806 in taxpayers’ dollars.

The experiment involved the incorporation of fetal bone marrows, liver and thymus into mice, who were then infected with HIV to assess “the human gut microbiome and its role in HIV infection.” Afterwards, the researchers beheaded the mice and “removed their brains.”

The University of Nebraska-Lincoln, also conducted an experiment where “double humanized” mice were created by feeding the rodents “human donor fecal samples.” Additionally, the mice were given “a functional human immune system and a stable human-like gut microbiome to study human health and disease.”

In similar fashion to the experiment at UNC Chapel Hill, the stated objective of the experiment was to “test the impact of the gut microbiome on treatments for various human diseases like HIV-1 and cancer.”

As reported by The Christian Post, The White Coat Waste Project condemned the University of Nebraska-Lincoln experiment, which cost   $2.8 million in taxpayer dollars, as “one of the ‘crappiest’ Fauci-funded experiments we’ve ever discovered.”

In another recent report, the White Coat Waste Project found that NIDA (the National Institute on Drug Abuse, part of the National Institutes of Health), spent over $2.3 million taxpayer dollars to conduct experiments involving the injection of cocaine into beagle puppies as young as 6 months old.

The reports come amid increasing backlash against Fauci and the NIH for allegedly funding gain of function research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology in China, which is highly regarded as the place where COVID-19 escaped from.

The White Coat Waste Project is currently taking action by advocating for the passing of the Cost Openness and Spending Transparency (COST) Act, which would reinforce a federal law ordering those conducting experiments with taxpayer money to reveal how much was spent.

The bill was first introduced by Sen. Joni Ernst, R-Iowa, in the Senate and has acquired the support of four additional Republicans Senators. Among those supporters is Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., who has pressed Fauci several times over whether the NIH funded gain-of-function research at the Wuhan lab. Fauci, who serves as Biden’s chief medical advisor, has denied those allegations.
