More People Are ‘Cooperating’ in Durham Probe, Accelerating the Investigation’s Progress
Special Counsel John Durham’s investigation into the White House has “accelerated” as more people are “cooperating.”
A source told Fox News that Durham has led the investigation “very professionally.”
“Durham does this right and keeps it a secret,” the source said, saying there has been “much more activity” in the investigation “than has been visible to the public.”
Durham’s investigation deals with lawyer Michael Sussmann, a Democratic lawyer, who Durham says may have shared internet data with the CIA that showed Russian-made phones being used in the vicinity of the White House complex, which would add to accusations of former President Donald Trump’s ties to Russia.
Durham said his office found no evidence to support Sussmann’s claim.
Sussmann has been charged with making a false statement to the FBI.
The latest Durham filing says that lawyers for Hilary Clinton’s 2016 campaign allegedly paid a technology executive to infiltrate the White House and Trump Tower.
According to The Christian Post, President Trump commented on the latest investigation update, saying the filing provides “indisputable evidence” that Hilary Clinton’s 2016 presidential campaign spied on his campaign to “develop a completely fabricated connection to Russia.”
“This is a scandal far greater in scope and magnitude than Watergate, and those who were involved in and knew about this spying operation should be subject to criminal prosecution,” Trump said, referring to the 1974 Watergate scandal that led to the resignation of President Richard Nixon.
Meanwhile, defense attorneys say the latest filings are false about Sussmann.
“The Special Counsel has again made a filing in this case that unnecessarily includes prejudicial and false allegations that are irrelevant … and are plainly intended to politicize this case, inflame media coverage and taint the jury pool,” attorneys said in a statement.
Sussmann’s trial is set to start in a few months.
