New Docuseries to Make Case for the Existence of Biblical Giants, or Nephilim
An upcoming docuseries will offer viewers a rare look at the biblical giants known as the Nephilim and make a case for their existence.
The film titled Angels & Giants, The Watchers & Nephilim is produced by The Inspiration Networks, a faith-based family entertainment network. It will be presented in four one-hour segments centering on the theories on Nephilim’s existence.
According to Rudy Landa, a senior producer and director at The Inspiration Networks, the subject of the docuseries is based on their love of God’s Word.
“The Bible describes the Nephilim in several places,” Landa told The Jerusalem Post. “The main commentary of the Nephilim happens in Genesis chapter six. Most people cruise right over that passage. The Nephilim were the offspring of heavenly beings who were placed in the spiritual realm to watch over the earth in those days. They were principalities in the heavenly realm.”
As revealed in the Scriptures, the Nephilim were the offspring of the “Sons of Elohim” and the women they cohabited with in Genesis 6.
“The docuseries brings the biblical sources, but it should be interesting for non-religious viewers,” Landa noted. “We seek out actual proof, the traces and clues that are out there in the world, and not just the faith-based claims. Because there is so much archaeological evidence that needs to be explored.”
Landa was also assisted by Douglas Van Dorn, who authored a book on the Nephilim while the film was in production.
“We present the evidence, and we invite people to research to reach their own conclusions,” he explained. “We aren’t dogmatic and don’t hide anything. We bring the sources and encourage the viewer to ask questions, to continue to study and do their own research.”
The docuseries, which was filmed in Egypt, Peru and the United States, first begins in Israel’s Golan Heights due to its historical significance on the biblical giants.
“It makes sense to start in Israel, where the story of the Nephilim began,” Landa stressed. “And that is the Golan.”
The Book of Enoch, a second-century BCE apocryphal book believed to have been written by Noah’s great-grandfather, claims that the Nephilim were sent to Mount Hermon after being banished from Heaven. Mount Hermon is based on the Hebrew word cherem, which means “to be banished.”
At present, Inspiration Networks is looking for a channel to distribute Angels & Giants: The Watchers & Nephilim in expectation of its release this fall.
