Texas Bar Foundation Under Investigation for Allegedly Encouraging, Financing Illegal Immigration; Paxton Claims Texas Bar Foundation Unlawfully ‘Misusing Charitable Funds’ to Support Illegal Immigration, and related stories

Texas Bar Foundation under investigation for allegedly encouraging, financing illegal immigration :

State AG says the lawyers may be sending taxpayer money to groups facilitating border jumpers

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced an investigation Friday into the Texas Bar Foundation, saying he‘s heard complaints the lawyers’ group is funneling taxpayers’ money to organizations that encourage and fund illegal immigration.

Mr. Paxton asked the bar to turn over its charitable giving lists for the past 10 years, as well as any documents detailing how those decisions were made.

He said he‘s received complaints from Rep. Troy E. Nehls, Texas Republican, and members of the public about the bar foundation‘s behavior.

“The Texas Bar Foundation is alleged to have knowingly given donations to entities that encourage, participate in, and fund illegal immigration at the Texas-Mexico border, and potentially using taxpayer dollars received from the State Bar of Texas, which appoints the Foundation‘s trustees,” Mr. Paxton said. “If true, this is likely an improper use of charitable funds because the funds are diverted from their intended — and potentially unlawful — purpose.”

Soon after he announced the probe, the attorney general also made public that he is being investigated by the bar association for his role in pursuing a legal case to challenge the Electoral College vote count that delivered victory to President Biden in 2020. —>READ M ORE HERE

Paxton Claims Texas Bar Foundation Unlawfully ‘Misusing Charitable Funds’ to Support Illegal Immigration:

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced that the office’s Financial Litigation and Charitable Trusts Division is investigating the Texas Bar Foundation on suspicion of illegally “aiding and abetting the mass influx of illegal aliens.”

The attorney general accused the foundation of using taxpayer funds to make charitable contributions to organizations that “encourage, participate in, and fund illegal immigration.”

Paxton stated in a news release on Friday that the investigation commenced after “credible complaints” were offered by Congressman Troy Nehls (R-TX-22) and other unnamed sources.

“Unfortunately, at the very time that our state is facing an unprecedented border crisis and our brave men and women are serving Texas in Operation Lone Star, it appears that the liberal State Bar’s handpicked cronies are misusing charitable funds to make the situation even worse,” the attorney general said.

“I will not let this illegal behavior continue any further. Thank you to Congressman Nehls and other concerned citizens for bringing this to my attention.” —>READ MORE HERE
