Joe Biden’s DHS Using Border Wall Funds to Conduct ‘Environmental Planning’; Poll: Just One in Five Voters Say Biden’s Migration Policy Is on ‘Right Track’
oe Biden’s DHS Using Border Wall Funds to Conduct ‘Environmental Planning’:
President Joe Biden’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is spending border wall funds, previously allocated by Congress to construct a wall along the United States-Mexico border, on addressing “life, safety, [and] environmental,” issues.
In July 2021, DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas announced the administration’s plans to spend American taxpayer money on a host of issues, including environmental restoration, rather than expanding on the border’s existing wall constructed during the Trump administration.
On Friday, Mayorkas detailed plans to close some of the border wall’s gaps that have remained since Biden halted all construction of border wall in late January 2021.
As part of that effort, Mayorkas said in a news release that DHS is moving “forward with projects in the San Diego, El Centro, Yuma, El Paso, and Rio Grande Valley Sectors to address life, safety, environmental, or other remediation requirements in accordance with [DHS’s] plan for the use of border barrier funds.”

Poll: Just One in Five Voters Say Biden’s Migration Policy Is on ‘Right Track’:
Almost two out of three voters think President Joe Biden is taking the United States in the wrong direction on immigration, according to a poll by YouGov.com.
Sixty-two percent believe Biden’s immigration policy is taking the nation on the wrong track, the May 21-24 poll of 1,500 adult citizens — which was conducted for The Economist magazine — found.
Just 18 percent — or fewer than one in five — support Biden’s approach to immigration policy.
These deeply negative numbers are politically important because 70 percent of Republicans and 48 percent of independents say immigration issues are “very important,” the poll reported. In contrast, Democrats are edging away from the issue, with only 35 percent saying immigration is “very important.”
However, the GOP has yet to win the trust of a majority of voters on migration policy, even as Biden and his deputies are inviting millions of mostly poor migrants across the U.S. border and into Americans’ jobs, housing, and communities.
Just 47 percent of registered voters trust Republicans in Congress to handle immigration issues, said a May 2022-22 poll of 2,005 registered voters. Sixteen percent — or one in six Americans — did not back either party, according to the poll by Morning Consult for Politico. —>READ MORE HERE
