Most Americans Do Not Want Presidents Donald Trump, Joe Biden to Run for President in 2024

According to a new poll, Americans would like to see a fresh face in the White House and not the return of former President Donald Trump or a second term for President Joe Biden.

The Yahoo/YouGov poll showed that some 64 percent of respondents feel Biden should not run for reelection in 2024. About 21 percent thought he should campaign again, and 15 percent said they were undecided.

Biden would be nearly 82 by the November 2024 elections.

Among most groups, between 60 to 66 percent of respondents said Biden should not run for reelection. That included 66 percent of women, 62 percent of men, 65 percent of people ages 18-29, 60 percent of those ages 30-44, and 65 percent of those 45 years old or older.

Sixty-six percent of white and 65 percent of Hispanics also said the same. Meanwhile, 49 percent of African Americans also agreed.

The poll also looked at a possible Trump campaign for the presidential seat.

According to the poll, 55 percent of respondents said Trump should not run for reelection, while only 31 percent said he should run again. Fourteen percent were undecided in the poll.

Like the results for Biden, across the board among groups, between 46 percent to 58 percent of groups said Trump should not run for president again. That included 58 percent of women, 52 percent of men, 58 percent of those ages 18-29, 46 percent of those ages 30-44, and 55 percent of those 45 years old or older. Meanwhile, 50 percent of whites and 58 percent of Hispanics said the same.

A whopping 75 percent of African Americans surveyed said Trump should not campaign again for president.

According to the poll, in a possible head-to-head vote between Trump and Biden, Trump led 42 percent over Biden’s 39 percent.

The survey also showed:

  • About 37 percent say the chief issue for the 2024 election is inflation
  • 10 percent said the chief issue was crime and healthcare
  • 9 percent said the chief issue would be immigration
