VA Pregnancy Center Is First Pro-Life Location Vandalized after Roe v. Wade Was Overturned

A pregnancy center in Virginia became the first pro-life organization to be vandalized following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade last Friday.

According to a Facebook post by the Lynchburg Police Department, officers responded to a call Saturday morning about an act of vandalism that had occurred at the Blue Ridge Pregnancy Center overnight.

“Upon arrival, officers found that the building had been spray-painted with graffiti, and multiple windows had been broken out. Security camera footage shows four masked individuals committing the acts,” the department wrote in the Facebook post.

Several photos of the damaged pregnancy center were also included in the post. The photos show the messages “Jane’s Revenge,” “if abortion ain’t safe, then you ain’t safe” and “vote blue lol” spray-painted on and around the building.

As reported by The Christian Post, a photo of surveillance camera footage was also posted, showing that four hooded individuals committed the acts of vandalism around 1:20 am.

“BRPC has been vandalized greatly, and we need the support of our community now more than ever. If you are available to give financial support for additional security, and lots of prayers, we would greatly appreciate you. We know God has [His] Hand over our center, and the work at BRPC is not finished,” wrote Susan Campbell, executive director of Blue Ridge Pregnancy Center, in a statement in response to the incident.

Virginia’s Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin also condemned the incident on social media on Saturday.

“There is no room for this in Virginia, breaking the law is unacceptable,” he tweeted. “This is not how we find common ground. Virginia State Police stands ready to support local law enforcement as they investigate.”

As Christian Headlines previously reported, Jane’s Revenge, a radical pro-abortion group, has taken responsibility for recent vandalism attacks across the U.S., including the firebombing of a Pregnancy Center in Buffalo, New York, earlier this month.

The group cited the leaked Supreme Court draft opinion indicating that the court would overturn Roe v. Wade as the reason for their earlier attacks.

According to The Christian Post, the FBI has already launched an investigation into attacks on “pregnancy resource centers and faith-based organizations across the country.”

Last year, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security added both pro-life and pro-abortion groups to its list of “domestic violent extremists” that “pose an elevated threat to the homeland in 2021.”
