Aventer Gray Shares Encouraging Update about Pastor John Gray’s Health

Aventer Gray issued an encouraging health update about her husband, megachurch pastor John Gray, who was recently hospitalized for a week with a life-threatening saddle pulmonary embolism.

“Doctors, multiple cardiologists, a hematologist … the best, baffled… Only God! We are stable today, moving in the right direction,” Aventer wrote on Instagram on July 14.

John Gray, the lead pastor of Relentless Church in Greenville, South Carolina, was admitted to the hospital on July 7 with a saddle pulmonary embolism and several blood clots in his lungs. As Christian Headlines previously reported, Aventer said that the embolism was in a dangerous position that it “could potentially” end John’s life if it shifted “at all.”

“I need as many people who believe in the miracle healing power of Jesus Christ to join me and my family and our church as we cry out on behalf of John W. Gray III,” Aventer wrote on Instagram last Sunday. “I’m rocking with God, Relentlessly!”

Several days later, Aventer said that her husband was being transferred to a hospital in Atlanta, Georgia and noted that a clot in his leg had disappeared.

During her July 14 post, the pastor’s wife quoted Psalm 46:10, which reads, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

“‘Don’t Move’ was the most terrifying time of our lives,” she said, adding that her husband is experiencing a miracle that is “unheard of.”

“The timeline of how soon it would take to see these clots dissipate was accelerated by months, and the only thing they could attribute this to was prayer,” Aventer wrote. “Nothing they did do, was able to do what we now see based on most recent imaging.”

According to Church Leaders, she concluded her post by stating that she would show imaging results “when it’s time.”

“I’m Done! Just know, I’ll never be the same! We will never be the same!! Thank you all, Aventer said. “Everyone across the globe. Let’s finish the miracle and get him back to where he needs to be. Yes, we have milestones, benchmarks, and major shifts of lifestyle, but most of all, HE HAS LIFE & God’s breath in his soon-to-be uninjured lungs!”
