Candace Cameron Bure to Star in First Christmas Film with GAC Family
Actress Candace Cameron Bure is slated to star in her first Christmas film with her new network, GAC Family, following her departure from the Hallmark Channel 5 months ago.
According to Faithwire, GAC Media announced on Tuesday that Bure will star in and executive produce the film A Christmas … Present. The film was created in collaboration with Bure’s company, Candy Rock Entertainment.
“SO HAPPY to announce that Candy Rock Entertainment is underway with their first Christmas movie of the season starring…me,” Bure wrote on Instagram.
As reported by TV Line, Bure explained in a statement that A Christmas… Present is about “slowing down enough to recognize what’s right in front of our eyes.”
“The hustle and bustle of the Christmas season will arrive before we know it, but it’s through the quiet moments that we hear God speak to us, directing our path to what’s most important,” she added.
Bill Abbott, the president of GAC Media, described the film as “indicative of the memorable movies and family-friendly entertainment that Great American Media is looking forward to creating with Candace and the Candy Rock team.”
The upcoming holiday will be released in November as part of GAC Media’s “Great American Christmas” series, which will launch on Oct. 21.
Bure, who starred in over two dozen films during her 14-year stint with the Hallmark Channel, announced in April that she would be partnering with GAC Media, where she has taken on an executive role.
“I’m very excited to develop heartwarming family and faith-filled programming and make the kind of stories my family and I love to watch,” she said in a statement at the time. “GAC fits my brand perfectly; we share a vision of creating compelling, wholesome content for an audience who wants to watch programming for and with the whole family.”
