Kathie Lee Gifford Says Monogamy Is under Attack: ‘God Loves Marriage’

Four-time Emmy award-winning TV personality, actress, and best-selling author Kathie Lee Gifford passionately defended the “holy alliance” of marriage as she argued that “monogamy is under attack.”

“God loves marriage. God instituted marriage for a reason, for a purpose. Family is so important to God. … Marriages are under attack. Monogamy is under attack,” she told Fox News.

Gifford’s comments were made in response to rumors that NFL Star Tom Brady and his wife, supermodel Gisele Bündchen, are getting divorced.

“I think marriage should be a holy alliance,” she contended. “Now, there are reasons why certain people should get divorced, and they have physical reasons to … I don’t know their first story. I just know that I’m sorry to them and their children.”

Gifford, who was married to the late Giants football player and sports commentator Frank Gifford for 30 years, shared that she had faced challenges in her own marriage just like “everybody else.”

“I’ve been praying for them,” she said of Brady and his wife. “I hope they reconnect with why they fell in love to begin with. What’s the biggest problem in most marriages? They forget why they ever fell in love in the first place.”

Gifford, an outspoken Christian, released her latest book, “The God of the Way,” with co-author Rabbi Jason Sobel on August 30.

“Join us as we discover the stories of key Biblical figures and how they continue to shape us all today. Merging the ancient with the modern, we analyze the story of God’s plan for mankind with historical and cultural insights,” she explained on Instagram.

She also wrote and released the film, “The Way,” which debuted in theaters on September 1 for one day only. The film, which features a symphony orchestra and musical artists singing tailor-made roles, is narrated by Gifford and aims to bring biblical stories to life.
