Kirk Cameron’s Pro-Life Film, Lifemark, Convinces Mother Not to Get an Abortion
Actor Kirk Cameron, who recently produced the hit pro-life film Lifemark with the Kendrick Brothers, shared that the film reportedly saved an unborn baby from being aborted.
During an interview with Faithwire, Cameron explained that Alex and Stephen Kendrick told him that a man working for a ride-hailing service had picked up a girl who wanted to go to an abortion clinic.
“He noticed that the address … was an abortion clinic,” Cameron said of the driver. “And he had just seen the movie Lifemark and was so deeply moved by it.”
He added that the driver told the woman about Lifemark and encouraged her to watch the film before deciding to get an abortion.
“She said, ‘Yes,’ and she went to go watch the movie,” Cameron said. “And as far as I know, she decided to keep her baby.”
The Growing Pains star also noted that the girl has since surrendered her life to Jesus Christ.
Pure Flix CEO Michael Scott also opened up about the film, which will be coming to the Christian streaming network next month.
“I knew right away with the Kendricks being involved and Kirk being involved that this would definitely be a solid movie for our audience,” Scott told Faithwire.
Lifemark, which premiered in theaters in September, comes several months after the Supreme Court reversed Roe v. Wade, pushing the issue of abortion back to the states.
“It’s just like God, when He predicts that something is going to happen … it always lands at just the right time,” Cameron said.
Scott agreed with Cameron and shared that Christians are called to reach people worldwide with the Gospel.
“Go into all the world and preach the Gospel,” he said. “[T] hat’s what God commands us to do, the Great Commission. And if we can share that, whether it be one-on-one, through movies that we make, through other forums, that’s the greatest thing I think we can do because, ultimately, we’re going to touch people’s lives.”
Lifemark will stream exclusively on Pure Flix beginning Nov. 22.
