Jesus' Coming Back

Great American Family to Feature Matthew West Song for Christmas Season: It Brings Us ‘Back to Jesus’

A song by one of contemporary Christian music’s top artists, Matthew West, is the theme song for Great American Family’s Christmas season.

West’s new song Come Home for Christmas will be the theme song beginning Nov. 3 for Great American Family’s “Great American Christmas,” which includes 18 original movies and Christmas titles throughout the day until the end of the year. A rival of Hallmark, Great American Family was launched in 2021 by former Hallmark executive Bill Abbott and is available on major cable and satellite outlets and on streaming platforms such as FRNDLY.

Great American Family movies feature dozens of well-known names, including Candace Cameron Bure, Daniel Lissing, Jill Wagner, Cameron Mathison, Jen Lilley, Danica McKellar, Neal Bledsoe and Jessica Lowndes.

“My dear friend @candacecbure reached out a few months ago telling me about all she has been working on at the network for this holiday season and suggested I help bring in a musical aspect to the programming,” West wrote on social media. “… Not only will ‘Come Home for Christmas’ be playing on the network for 8 weeks throughout the season, but we have another big surprise coming for you as well!”

The song, West said, is an “invitation for every heart to return to the wonder, the peace, the love and the hope that this holiday season offers to every heart.”

“I hope when people tune in to watch their favorite holiday films on the network, that this song will serve as a musical reminder of what Christmas is all about,” West said.

Bure said she’s a fan of the song.

“I can’t listen even for a second without getting chills!!” she posted on West’s Instagram timeline. “Your music is so inspiring and heartfelt. Always bringing the heart back to Jesus. Thank you for being a part of Great American Family Channel for Christmas!!!”

McKellar wrote, “I love this song SO MUCH.”
