Candace Cameron Bure Celebrates as Great American Family Closes Out 2022 as ‘Fastest Growing Network’ on Cable TV
Candace Cameron Bure thanked fans on Tuesday for their support of the new “Great American Family” (GAF) channel after it closed out the fourth quarter of 2022 as the “fastest growing network” in all of cable television.
Bure, who transitioned from the Hallmark Channel to GAF in April 2022, posted a picture of a press release by Great American Media in an Instagram story, The Daily Wire reported.
“Thank you for finding us and watching Great American Family Channel,” she wrote above a photo of the press release on her story.
In a tweet by GAF, the network also posted the press release and thanked supporters for tuning in.
“Great news for Great American Media’s #GreatAmericanFamily to end 2022 & an even better way to start 2023. Happy New Year to everyone who helped make this happen, from people on-camera & off, but especially our viewers!” Great American Family wrote.
According to the press release, the network “closed out Fourth Quarter 2022 as the fastest-growing network in all of cable television.”
“In only its second year, the emerging leader in original Christmas movies ranked # 1 in Total Day ratings in Households (+113 percent), People 18-49 (+110 percent) and Total Viewers (+116 percent), and +1 in Primetime ratings growth in Households (+128 percent) among in cable networks.”
GAF also noted that increased viewership growth was attributed to the “network’s Great American Christmas franchise, which featured 18 original Christmas movies” and included stars such as Bure, Danica McKellar, Gladys Knight, Jen Lilly and more.
The expanded slate of Christmas films also “marked a 50 percent increase” in the network’s holiday offering in its second year, further establishing GAF as a “destination” for original Christmas films.
The network also features “year-round seasonal programming events, including Autumn Harvest and Great American Winter, which feature original movies celebrating faith, family, and country.”
In a November 2022 interview with the Wall Street Journal, Bure told the news outlet that she wanted “stories that have more meaning and purpose and depth behind them.”
“I knew that the people behind Great American Family were Christians that love the Lord and wanted to promote faith programming and good family entertainment,” the actress said. She also noted that after a “change of leadership,” the Hallmark Channel had become “a completely different network” than when she first signed on.
