A new House cap on discretionary spending has been announced. This means limits placed on any item in House annual budgets (including defense spending and foreign aid). McCarthy reportedly agreed to allow ‘open rules’ on spending measures, which could lead to lengthy debates and efforts to zero out/elimiate funding for certain unpopular programs (such as aid to UA).
Very good news for those of us tired of the ‘policeman of the world’ thing. Thank Gaetz for this, and if I’m reading the situation right Trump may have had this planned out. Never, ever underestimate Orange Man.
