Why do they call them ‘truthers’ when they’re actually liars and/or nit-wits?…aw never mind.
Anyway thank you, Buzz. It’s very rare, but once in a while in this fallen, evil world, God gives us a moment in history where humanity is able to rise out of the mire, and accomplish something that is incontrovertibly good–by His providence, for His Glory.
You’re a true, old-school American hero. You gave a young American boy, and a breathless, praying world a great thrill watching and listening to you, your team, and your organization, NASA, in the summer of ’69, climb onto the backs of the scientific and intellectual ‘giants’ of Western Civilization, and accomplish the seemingly impossible–in almost the blink of an eye as the events of history rise and fall.
All of a sudden the moon was within reach, and the talk of reaching it was measured, and matter of fact. And unexpectedly God, in spite of the powers declaring Him dead, was kept front and center in those days with all the moon missions. When you and the earlier crews showed us the hidden side of the moon, and the earth rise–looking back, I was frankly gobsmacked, and smitten with the thought manned of space travel to the stars. Predictably, it was only a moment in time. Soon our evil gov’t started finding many new reasons to dismantle and destroy that accomplishment and bury its magnificent legacy. But then there is always the new earth for us who Believe.
In the words of that TV comic, ‘To the moon!’ but not with a fictional ‘Alice,’ but with a very real and substantial you, Buzz, and Neil, and Mike. Will never, ever forget it.
