I love the United States and I deeply admire our military successes in years past. I respect the Marine Corps and out of that respect, I run the Marine Corp marathon as regularly as I can. However, I do not see how this insane quagmire in Ukraine ends advantageously for the US. It is possible – perhaps likely – that when Ukraine loses, the US will lose with Ukraine. In doing so, like Ukraine, the US will have zero bargaining power in the endgame. We will have to concede something of value to Russia and China. If that possible reality is an outcome of this “proxy war” (which I believe is the ultimate outcome), why in hell would the US proceed any further in aligning with Ukraine?
