I saw her in a couple of 60s interviews with Dick Cavett (Youtube) and she said she wasn’t a singer so I think she worked on it along the way.
She was actually pretty smart – pops was an aeronautical engineer and her mother was daughter of an architect.
She never seemed to have as much of a career as she should have and I’ve assumed it was because she wouldn’t get on the producer’s couch.
She wouldn’t do nude scenes saying “I’m my father’s daughter.”
She was a nice lady – married ugly men too lol.
