‘SNL’ Goes Full Propaganda With ‘Trans Kids’ Rant That Doesn’t Even Pretend To Be Funny

In the most recent installment of “Saturday Night Live” (SNL), a portion of the show’s iconic Weekend Update segment was set aside to lecture its few remaining viewers about the importance of allowing children to irreversibly damage their bodies through genital mutilation surgeries and cross-sex hormones.

“Since the start of this year, over 400 anti-LGBTQ bills have been introduced across the country, many of which directly target trans youth,” said Michael Che moments before SNL’s “first non-binary cast member,” Molly Kearney, was lowered via harness into the seat next to him.

Make no mistake, the folks at 30 Rockefeller Plaza are very much in favor of transing the kids. After all, that was the whole point of this spiel — to lecture the red state rubes who “don’t care about freaking kids’ lives.”

But set aside nuanced perspectives and objections to the castration and sterilization of children for a moment and just assess what SNL is doing in regard to comedy.

From the ceiling, the show lowered an overweight woman in a purple jumpsuit to lecture people about leftist cultural perspectives that happen to be shared by corporate America, the FBI, the CIA, and the White House.

Between the condescending moral platitudes, lines about overweight people in uncomfortably tight clothing, and crotch jokes, Kearney insisted, “We are making trans kids grow up too fast, we should be keeping them safe, and we need to lift them up.”

Instead of providing entertainment, the offputting bit read as though she was making a low-effort attempt at channeling the comedy stylings of Chris Farley. A heavy person invoking an abundance of strained vocal inflections and using performative body language simply isn’t funny if you aren’t a child — but considering Kearney explicitly addressed children several times throughout her spiel, this would make sense.

“What’s happening, kids, is wrong, and you don’t need to be scared,” Kearney insisted after demanding they be granted the ability to independently make irreversible medical decisions that permanently alter their bodily functions. “Our job is to protect you, and your job is to focus on being a kid.”

Despite SNL’s stated intent to be the provision of levity, it, like the rest of late-night television, is an apparatus for the dissemination of leftist politics. Kearney, a celebrity who “identifies” as neither male nor female, wasn’t telling jokes; she was making an explicit attempt to further normalize radical gender ideology. The only people laughing were those in the studio audience who were reminded by a flashing light.
