Biden grants Obamacare access to illegal immigrant Dreamers in DACA program:
President Biden on Thursday announced plans to give illegal immigrant Dreamers in the DACA program access to Obamacare, saying they deserved the same right to health care as Americans.
The proposed regulation would make DACA recipients eligible for Medicaid if they meet the low-income threshold. It would also allow them to buy insurance on Obamacare’s exchanges.
Mr. Biden said in a video message that health care is an American right and that those in the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program have earned the chance to share that right.
“They’re American in every way except on paper,” he said.
Mr. Biden is battling major immigration headwinds, with record numbers arriving at the border over the past two years. The move to boost Dreamers, the most sympathetic figures in the immigration debate, could help the president refocus on more friendly territory.
Expanding Obamacare could also help Mr. Biden mollify the Democrats’ left flank. Immigration advocates have complained in recent months that the president has been reverting to Trump-style policies to solve the unprecedented chaos at the border.

Biden moves to extend health care coverage to more than half-million DACA migrants:
President Biden announced Thursday his administration will extend health care coverage to migrants who arrived illegally but remain in the US under the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.
The White House put out a fact sheet stating more than a half-million so-called “Dreamers” will now be eligible for Medicaid and Affordable Care Act coverage.
Biden’s Department of Health and Human Services is expected to propose a rule by the end of the month amending the definition of “lawful presence” to include the migrants.
“Today, my Administration is announcing our plan to expand health coverage for Dreamers, the thousands of young people brought to the U.S. as kids,” Biden said of the effort in a video posted to Twitter.
The Obama administration rolled out the DACA program in 2012 to prevent children who illegally entered the country with their parents from being deported — and also to provide a lawful path toward work and paying taxes in the US as adults.
Biden has repeatedly said he’d like to see Congress provide a path toward citizenship for DACA recipients.
Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), a member of the Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs, was quick to criticize the president’s effort.
“Nearly $32 trillion in debt, with deficits growing larger and no end in sight,” he told The Post. “President Biden is living in a fantasy land where he’s oblivious to the harm that inflation caused by his policies is inflicting on hardworking Americans.” —>READ MORE HERE
