Jesus' Coming Back

New Movie to Tell Redemptive Story of Duck Dynasty Patriarch Phil Robertson

The story of Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty fame will soon be released as a feature film called The Blind.

The movie, slated for release on Sept. 28, will detail “the true story of the Robertson family,” Faithwire reports.

Robertson has been open about his journey to Christianity and his struggle with alcoholism and adultery before finding Jesus.

“I’m embarrassed by my past on one side, but on the other, I’m unashamed because my rotten sins have been bought and paid for by blood,” Phil told CBN’s Faithwire in a statement. “If The Blind brings one person to know the power of the blood of Jesus, it was worth it.'”

In a social media post, Robertson shared artwork from the new film.

“Miss Kay, I love you, and I’m grateful to my bones that you kept on loving me,” he wrote. “My family is telling our story the way it needs to be told — raw moments, rough edges, good times and bad.”

In a social media post about the film, Kay, Robertson’s wife, said she loves her husband, whom she called her “pioneer man.”

“This is our true story, and now we’re telling it all,” she wrote.

Kay has previously spoken about Robertson’s behavior early in their marriage, noting that he continued to drink, was involved in extramarital affairs and wouldn’t go to church with her after she became pregnant.

“I had to know that he was unfaithful… because I wasn’t that stupid,” she said, adding she didn’t want to quit the marriage. “I had an out. I didn’t want an out.”

Willie Robertson, Robertson’s son, also mentioned the movie on his Facebook page.

“Our family story didn’t start with Jesus, but it sure will end with Him,” he wrote.
