CNN Falls To Newsmax In Friday’s Prime-Time Ratings

Newsmax defeated CNN in Friday’s prime-time ratings to become the nation’s third-highest-rated cable news channel. The news marks the latest embarrassment for CNN, an already-declining, left-wing propaganda network responsible for peddling numerous lies and regime-approved narratives in recent years.

According to figures from Nielsen Media Research, Newsmax’s “Eric Bolling The Balance” recorded 467,000 viewers in the 8 p.m. ET hour. Meanwhile, only 447,000 watched CNN’s “Anderson Cooper 360.” In the 9 p.m. ET hour, radio host Chris Plante’s new program, “The Right Squad,” garnered 32,000 more viewers than CNN’s “Whole Story” (325,000 to 293,000).

Lastly, in the 10 p.m. ET slot, “Greg Kelly Reports” scored 278,000 viewers while “Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace?” only managed to notch 263,000.

The first and second slots for Friday’s prime-time ratings were taken by Fox News and MSNBC, respectively.

“Newsmax has witnessed a consistent, positive trend for weeks and we are looking forward to enormous interest in the network as we draw closer to the GOP primaries and ’24 election,” Newsmax CEO Christopher Ruddy said in a statement.

According to a recently published Newsmax article, the conservative network’s ratings have increased since Fox News’ firing of Tucker Carlson several weeks ago. Late last month, Fox released a press release revealing the network and Carlson had “agreed to part ways,” but didn’t provide a specific reason as to why the host was leaving.

Through the past several years, Carlson arguably provided the most insightful analysis of current events among New York and D.C. media pundits. Earlier this year, for example, Carlson aired previously withheld footage from the Jan. 6, 2021, U.S. Capitol riot, contradicting numerous falsehoods peddled by Democrat politicos and their allies in regime-approved media. The former Fox News host was also instrumental in highlighting significant aspects of the Covid-19 pandemic that corporate press outlets chose to ignore, specifically the probable theory that the respiratory virus leaked out of a lab in Wuhan, China, and the risks associated with the Covid jabs.

Since departing Fox News, Carlson has announced he will start airing his show on Twitter.

“There aren’t many platforms left that allow free speech,” Carlson said in a video he tweeted. “The last big one remaining in the world, the only one, is Twitter, where we are now.”

As of Tuesday, the video had garnered more than 27 million views.
