Poynter Enlists FBI Censorship Lackey Yoel Roth For ‘Fact-Checking’ Summit Keynote

Yoel Roth, the former head of trust and safety at Twitter who is better known for interfering in the 2020 presidential election by censoring the Hunter Biden laptop bombshell, will be a keynote speaker at a global “fact-checking” summit hosted by the Poynter Institute, a “misinformation”-obsessed organization known for training so-called journalists in leftist sensibilities.

“These keynoters have got their facts straight,” Poynter announced in its invitation to the GlobalFact10 summit, which features a mugshot of Roth.

Prior to Elon Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, Roth was behind much of the tech giant’s collusion with the FBI and other government agencies. This empowered state actors to subvert the First Amendment by using so-called “private” companies to censor information that hurt Democrats. Most notably, Roth was at the helm in suppressing the Biden laptop story, which exposed family corruption implicating then-candidate and now-President Joe Biden. Roth also joked about his meetings with the FBI and expressed regret for not censoring Libs of TikTok, a popular conservative account that simply reposts examples of extreme leftists in their own words.

Roth’s censorship philosophy has been obvious: Let true safety risks such as pornography and threats to high school students pass while censoring anything that counters the corporate media’s narrative.

Meanwhile, Poynter has attempted to brand itself as a resource for training, accurate journalism, and “fact-checking,” but it has repeatedly demonstrated that its idea of fact-checking is suppressing any ideas critical of the regime. Its primary “fact-checking” publication, PolitiFact, is nothing more than a PR shop for Democrats and a source for censoring right-wing voices.

In addition to PolitiFact, Poynter has “verified” corporate media’s biggest fake fact-checkers, such as Reuters, Snopes, and AP Fact Check. Worse, as Federalist Staff Writer Evita Duffy detailed, Big Tech has dumped millions of dollars into Poynter to grow this army of obedient, left-wing fact-checkers it can then use as a pretext for deplatforming dissenters from social media.

In Poynter’s “fact-checking” summit, this cozy censorship relationship is on further display: with Roth on the keynote list; Meta, TikTok, and YouTube as event sponsors; and two Meta employees on the speaker list.
