General Staff: Russian forces fail to advance in the east, conduct 37 airstrikes across Ukraine:
Russian forces tried to advance toward the towns of Kupiansk, Lyman, Avdiivka, Marinka, and Shakhtarsk in eastern and southeastern Ukraine but failed to make any headway on June 17, according to the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces.
The Ukrainian military reported 22 engagements across these areas.
Over the past 24 hours, Russian forces also hit Ukrainian territories with 37 airstrikes and 19 attacks with multiple rocket launchers.
One strike killed a person and wounded three in Kherson Oblast.
Meanwhile, Russian forces remain on the defensive in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson Oblasts, anticipating the recently-launched Ukrainian counteroffensive.
Russian defenses are thickest in Zaporizhzhia Oblast, with multiple lines stretching all the way down towards occupied Crimea.
Ukrainian aviation, in turn, conducted nine strikes against Russian personnel and an air defense system, according to the report. Rocket and artillery forces destroyed two Russian ammunition depots and one artillery unit. —>READ MORE HERE
Russians attack on 5 fronts, have no gains – General Staff report
On Saturday 17 June, Russian troops carried out offensive operations on the Kupiansk, Lyman, Avdiivka, Marinka and Shakhtarsk front, but failed to reach any success.

Details: During the day, the Russians landed 37 airstrikes and carried out 19 attacks from multiple-launch rocket systems. The probability of missile and air strikes throughout Ukraine remains high.
The invading forces continue to focus their main efforts on the Lyman, Bakhmut, Avdiivka and Marinka fronts, heavy battles continue. 22 combat clashes were recorded during the day.
On the Volyn and Polissia fronts, the operational situation remains much the same as before. There is no evidence that Russia is forming any offensive units there. Units of Russian forces are undergoing training on training grounds in the Republic of Belarus, before they are sent to the areas of warfare in Ukraine.
On the Sivershchyna and Slobozhanshchyna fronts, the Russian forces maintain military presence in the areas bordering Ukraine. During the day, they inflicted an air strike on the village of Yanzhulivka, Chernihiv Oblast. Mortar and artillery attacks was recorded in the settlements of Yanzhulivka, Kostobobriv, Hremiach in Chernihiv Oblast, Chuikivka, Bachivsk, Svarkove, Atynske, Starykove, Boiaro-Lezhachi, Stari Vyrky, Sosnivka, Iskryskivshchyna, Volfyne, Basivka, Myropillia, Stepok, Krasnopillia, Novodmytrivka, Velyka Pysarivka, Ponomarenky in Sumy Oblast, as well as in Huriv Kozachok, Udy, Chervona Zoria, Kozacha Lopan, Strilecha, Starytsia, Ohirtseve, Pletenivka, Vovchanski Khutory, Pokaliane, Okhrimivka, Kruhle, Budarky, Zemlianky, Loshakove, Potykhonove and Komisarove in Kharkiv Oblast.
On the Kupiansk front, the Russians carried out offensive operations in the direction of Novoselivske in Luhansk Oblast and Berestove in Kharkiv Oblast, but had no success. Fyholivka, Dvorichna, Zapadne, Kamianka, Kyslivka of Kharkiv Oblast and Novoselivske of Luhansk Oblast were subjected to artillery and mortar attacks. —>READ MORE HERE
