Americans Aren’t Buying Biden’s Border Crisis Bunk
President Joe Biden, his administration, and the corporate media tried their best over the last two and a half years to downplay the record number of illegal border crossings, but a majority of Americans aren’t buying into the lie that the ongoing border crisis is improving.
A new poll from Pew Research found that 73 percent of Americans think the Biden administration is doing a bad job at handling the U.S.-Mexico border. For Republicans, the number rises to 87 percent. Even 62 percent of Democrats, whose party currently controls the White House and the Senate, say they disapprove of Biden’s border bungling.
Of the 5,115 U.S. adults surveyed, 94 percent of Americans think illegal border crossings are a problem for the country. Nearly half of Americans, 47 percent, classify illicit migration as a “very big” problem. That is up nearly 10 percent from last year’s survey, which found that 38 percent of Americans think the border chaos is a “very big” problem.
In May alone, 204,561 migrants were arrested attempting to illegally cross the U.S. Southern border. That number is slightly down from the month before, which saw 211,159 apprehensions, but is still higher than data recorded in 21 of the past 23 years. Excluding 2022, there haven’t been this many May arrests since Customs and Border Protection began recording apprehension data in 2000.
Law enforcement agencies are under explicit instructions from the Biden White House to avoid arresting illegal border crossers. Even those who are caught by border patrol will, be released into the U.S. with zero accountability.
Some illegal border crossers might even be assigned a court date in 2026 or later, but if history tells us anything, many won’t bother to show up. Others will be offered the opportunity to participate in Biden’s “humanitarian parole” program that inaccurately labels illegal border crossers who come through points of entry as “lawful.”
The Biden regime desperately wants Americans to forget that, thanks to its inviting policies, the U.S. border crisis is still in full swing. Corporate media are happy to provide cover with fawning coverage falsely declaring that “the number of migrants crossing the border has hit its lowest point since Biden took office.”
As the Pew poll shows, Americans are not quick to forget the havoc that Biden’s border policies are wreaking on the nation. Many, including 92 percent of Republicans and 73 percent of Democrats, support increased staffing at afflicted boundaries, but they know funding and resources alone won’t fix the catastrophe.
The Pew poll shows that Americans see the need for a policy shift away from the regime’s current agenda.
“When asked generally which party they agree with more on immigration policy, more Americans say they agree with policies from the Republican Party (41%) than the Democratic Party (31%),” Pew noted.
Ever since Biden’s first day in office, his administration was dead set on removing obstacles illegal crossers would normally face trying to enter the U.S. Illegal border crossers also understand that which is why many of them base much of their decision to come to the U.S. on who is in power and how open that person will keep the border.
