Israeli man raped British woman in Greece as friends filmed – report

An Israeli man allegedly raped a 21-year-old British woman on vacation in Greece last week, according to a report from local weekly publication Proto Thema.

The two were in the Kerameikos region when the event took place.

The two met at a nightclub and went to the Israeli man’s apartment together. There, he reportedly raped her while three other men filmed.

According to Proto Thema, a case is being filed against the man in Israel for rape.

The woman, who was vacationing with her friend from Portugal, originally went home with the Israeli consensually but asked him to stop what he was doing when his friends showed up with cameras. He refused and continued to rape her.

Israelis committing crimes abroad

This is not the first instance of Israeli men attacking women during Mediterranean vacations.

A 19-year-old British woman claimed that after inviting two Israelis to her hotel room in Rhodes, one of the two filmed her while she was having sex with the other one, the Greek Proto Thema newspaper reported in late June.

According to the report, the woman was staying in a hotel in Theologos when she met two Israeli 19-year-old boys. She invited them to her hotel room and had sex with one of them and realized in the middle that the other one was filming them. The woman has reportedly filed a complaint with local police who are investigating the incident.

In early 2022, Cyprus’s Supreme Court overturned the conviction of a British woman who had been sentenced to four months in jail for lying about being gang-raped by 12 Israelis in a hotel room in 2019.

In July 2019, the then-19-year-old woman filed a report with the police, saying she had been attacked by as many as 12 Israeli tourists in a hotel in Ayia Napa. However, she signed a retraction 10 days later and was charged with public mischief for filing a false complaint. She then continued to maintain in court that she was pressured to withdraw the allegations.
