House Republicans Target Biden Administration On COVID Vaccine Mandates; House Republicans Call On Federal Agency To Drop COVID Vaccine Rules, and other C-Virus related stories

House Republicans target Biden administration on COVID vaccine mandates:

A GOP-led House subcommittee is demanding answers about how President Biden’s controversial COVID-19 vaccine mandates came to be.

The Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Pandemic sent letters Tuesday to the Office of Personnel Management and the Departments of Defense, Labor, and Health and Human Services demanding documentation showing how the requirements originated and evolved.

“The Biden Administration disregarded medical freedom, patient-physician relationships, and clear scientific standards to force a novel vaccine on millions of Americans without sufficient evidence to support their policies,” subcommittee Chairman Brad Wenstrup (R-Ohio) told The Post.

Requested information includes material informing the decisions behind the mandates, internal communications about the vaccine, draft versions of the requirements, data about its implementation, and more.

The panel is demanding that information by Aug. 15.

“We are investigating how the mandates came to be to inform Congressional action should there be a future pandemic,” Wenstrup told each of the departments and agencies in the letters.

In September 2021, Biden signed an executive order directing federal employees to receive the COVID-19 vaccine with few exceptions. Businesses with at least 100 workers were told to require staffers to get vaccinated or be tested weekly. —>READ MORE HERE

House Republicans Call On Federal Agency To Drop COVID Vaccine Rulesl

Republicans in the House of Representatives, led by Florida Rep. Scott Franklin, are calling on the National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) to stop requiring guests to detail their COVID-19 vaccination status and any symptoms of illness.

The COVID-19 national emergency ended in April after President Joe Biden signed bipartisan legislation rolling it back. An executive order he issued in May ended vaccine requirements for federal workers and contractors. As a result, the Department of Commerce, which houses NOAA, does not require “onsite contractor employees and visitors to provide information about their vaccination status.”

However, the 42 House Republicans write that NOAA’s Office of Marine and Aviation Operations (OMAO) currently “requires individuals to fill out a Visitor Clearance form that asks about individuals’ vaccination status, and physical symptoms.”

“The OMAO requirements are inconsistent with the federal government’s posture regarding coronavirus management,” they note.

When federal workers returned to their offices as COVID-19 receded, the Biden administration put in place intensive testing and vaccination requirements for employees. The White House initially required unvaccinated federal employees working in offices to wear masks, isolate and test more often. Biden later eliminated that option.

The Supreme Court ultimately blocked a Biden administration vaccine mandate targeting private businesses, but allowed the federal employee mandate to go forward. —>READ MORE HERE
