Great American Family Is TV’s ‘Fastest-Growing Network’ for the 9th Straight Month: Nielsen

For the ninth straight month, Great American Family is America’s fastest-growing television network, according to new data.

Parent company Great American Media released new data this month showing that Great American Family closed out July up 143 percent in Total Day Household ratings compared to July 2022 and “leading all networks in year-over-year viewership increases,” according to a news release.

It has been TV’s “fastest-growing network” year-over-year in Total Day Household ratings for nine consecutive months, the news release said, citing Nielsen data.

Great American Family launched in 2021 as a rival of Hallmark.

In July, Great American Family also ranked No. 1 in Total Viewers (up 139 percent) compared to July 2022, according to the data.

Bill Abbott, president and CEO of Great American Media, told Christian Headlines that Great American Family will air an original movie every weekend for the rest of the year. Some weekends, he said, there will be an original movie on both Saturday and Sunday.

“We’re very excited about that,” Abbott told Christian Headlines. “And most importantly, the quality’s up significantly from where we were last year. In starting this business, at times, we’ve had to go out and put some things on the air that didn’t necessarily project where we want to be. And that’s just due to the fact that it’s hard to create a lot of content very quickly.”

“This season, we’ve really upped the quality,” Abbott said.

Great American Family is home to such well-known actresses as Candace Cameron Bure and Danica McKellar.

On Sept. 2, Great American Family will launch its second-annual “Great American Autumn” event with new original movies airing through October. All total, it includes seven new movies. Its annual Great American Christmas event will include 20 movies, Abbott told Christian Headlines. That’s more than last year’s total of 18.
