The Poll Results Are In: Everyone Hates Chris Christie

It’s not an exaggeration to say that everyone hates 2024 presidential candidate Chris Christie.

An August poll from Fox News found that Christie is viewed rather unfavorably by every political, racial, and economic demographic. Overall, 56 percent, a majority of American voters, express disdain towards Christie. Only 22 percent of 1,002 people polled said they held “favorable” opinions of the former New Jersey governor.

Christie isn’t just disliked by 57 percent of Republicans, the people he expects to potentially elect him in 2024, but he also earned the ire of 60 percent of Democrats. Even a good portion of independents, 46 percent, say they have a “somewhat” or “strongly unfavorable” opinion of Christie.

Only 24 percent of GOP voters, 22 percent of Democrat voters, and 17 percent of independents say they like Christie more than they scorn him. Overall, 58 percent of Trump and Biden voters who participated in the 2020 election hold critical views of Christie.

A similar breakdown is found across geographic groups. A majority of rural voters, 54 percent, are unsympathetic towards Christie and his cause. That number rises to 55 percent among urbanites and 60 percent among suburbanites.

Christie entered the 2024 presidential race with the stated intention of preventing former President Donald Trump from taking office again.

“I am convinced that if he goes back to the White House, that the next four years will all be about him just settling scores, Anderson, with everybody who he thinks wasn’t perfectly nice to him,” Christie said in an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper.

Since his campaign kicked off in June, Christie adopted several leftist talking points, including that Trump deserves to go to prison.

Christie’s position on the deep state’s war against Trump directly contradicts the views of Americans. A majority of voters, 56 percent in a recent Harvard Harris poll, say they know the Trump indictments are “interference by the Department of Justice in the 2024 elections” instead of a “fair application of the law.” Christie, however, claims that the Biden administration’s prosecutorial pawn Jack Smith “is just doing his job.”
