Jesus' Coming Back

Newly Baptized Tattoo Artist Kat Von D Leaves Witchcraft for Christianity

In a video released by Von D, a minister baptizes her with friends and family gathered to watch.

“Katherine von Drachenberg, upon your profession of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in obedience to His Divine command, I baptize you, my sister, in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,” the minister says in the video.

Von D’s husband, whom she married in 2018, commented on the post, writing, “I love you so much, my beautiful wife. You continue to inspire me every day. I want to marry you over and over again!”

Von D’s baptism comes just over a year after she announced to fans that she was throwing out her collection of books about witchcraft, the occult, and tarot.

“I’ve always found beauty in the macabre, but at this point, I just had to ask myself, what is my relationship with this content?”

“And the truth is, I just don’t want to invite any of these things into our family’s lives, even if it comes disguised in beautiful covers, collecting dust on my shelves,” she said in a July 2022 post.

In the past, Von D has been open about her journey with getting sober. She has been sober since 2007, according to Church Leaders.

“Even though it’s gonna be 12 years in July that I celebrate being clean from drinking and drugs, I still clearly remember the physical pain from withdrawals, the profound desire to die, and the overwhelming sense of loneliness I felt that day I decided to quit,” she previously shared in a 2019 post.

Recently, Von D also announced that she was in the process of blacking out some of her old tattoos. She said the “sleekness and simplicity” would replace her “garbage, drunken tattoos.”

Von D was featured on TLC’s reality show Miami Ink and later starred in her own reality show, LA Ink, which ran from 2007 to 2011. She then launched her own makeup brand shoe line, authored several books, and released an album.
