Jesus' Coming Back

Pastor Michael Todd Embraces Transparency New Book ‘Damaged but Not Destroyed: From Trauma to Triumph

Pastor Michael Todd, a New York Times bestselling author and Pastor of Transformation Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, embraces transparency in his new book, “Damaged but Not Destroyed: From Trauma to Triumph.”

Drawing from biblical examples, Todd contends that everyone except Jesus, experiences damage, asserting that bringing one’s brokenness to God is essential for healing and destiny. In the book, Todd talks about a concept he labeled ‘H.O.T.,’ which stands for ‘Humble, Open, and Transparent.”

“I think a lot of times, especially in this culture, we’re trying to hide, fake, and project,” he explained, “and a lot of times, you cannot get healed if you don’t reveal.”

The book allows readers an up close and personal look at his life, including vulnerabilities, trauma, and poor choices. His purpose for this is to encourage readers to overcome mistakes through biblical narratives. His goal is to remain humble transparent, and emulate Jesus’ discipleship, combining theology and therapy for transformative growth.

While Todd’s unconventional preaching style has drawn criticism, he focuses on reaching those who find traditional church settings unappealing. Transformation Church claims to have led nearly 100,000 people to Jesus in three years.
