Biden’s ‘Security’ Proposal Earmarks Four Times As Much For Ukraine’s Border As Our Own

President Joe Biden is holding our own border security hostage in order to funnel more tax dollars to Ukraine. This week, the White House pitched a combined $100 billion emergency “security” funding package to Congress primarily aimed at confronting Russia, with less than 15 percent of the measure’s proposed spending set aside for our southern border.

In a prime-time address from the Oval Office Thursday night, Biden presented the package as “an urgent budget request to fund America’s national security needs” and “to support our critical partners, including Israel and Ukraine.”

More than $61 billion outlined in the proposal, however, is directed towards Ukraine. Less than $15 billion goes to security for the southern border, which Biden’s proposal makes dependent on lawmakers’ willingness to ramp up Ukraine funding by about 50 percent. The Biden administration already committed $113 billion in Ukraine aid last year, according to the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget.

“It’s a smart investment that’s going pay dividends for American security for generations, help us keep American troops out of harm’s way, help us build a world that is safer, more peaceful and more prosperous for our children and grandchildren,” Biden said Thursday night.

Ohio Republican Sen. J.D. Vance blasted Biden’s proposal to combine all aid measures into one as “disgraceful.”

“If he wants to sell the American people on $60 billion more to Ukraine, he shouldn’t use dead Israeli children to do it,” Vance said on Fox News. “It was disgusting.”

The president’s “security” proposal also included more than $9 billion in “humanitarian aid” for a handful of recipients including Gaza, where Americans are currently being held hostage by Hamas. Missouri Republican Sen. Josh Hawley slammed the request in a post on X, previously known as Twitter.

“Not a dime for Gaza until EVERY American hostage is released and safely home,” Hawley wrote.

The Palestinian terrorist group Hamas captured at least 200 hostages during its Oct. 7 attack which killed about 1,400 people, largely civilians, in Israel. The State Department believes about 20 citizens who remain captive in Gaza are American citizens, according to Newsweek.

While Biden attempts to strongarm lawmakers into support for another colossal aid package for Ukraine in exchange for border funding, the crisis along the southern boundary is escalating. Earlier this month, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) warned that “[t]errorists and criminal actors may exploit the elevated flow and increasingly complex security environment to enter the United States.”

The threat was amplified on Thursday when the State Department issued a “worldwide caution alert” for U.S. citizens abroad over the rising threat of terror related to the developments in the Middle East. An open border further exposes American citizens to these terror threats, in their own backyards. Federal data shows roughly 160 aliens who crossed the border illegally within fiscal year 2023 were found to be on the Terrorist Screening Database (TSDB). Of the 7 million illegal border crossers who have been “encountered” under President Joe Biden, about 3 million have been released into communities across the country.
