Kamala Harris’ Stepdaughter Raises Nearly $8 Million for Gaza

The stepdaughter to Vice President Kamala Harris received backlash for raising millions on her Instagram account in support of Gaza.

According to Town Hall, Ella Emhoff raised nearly $8 million on her personal Instagram page for the “Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund.”

Emhoff, whose father, Doug Emhoff, is Jewish, pledged her support for Gaza even though Hamas terrorists attacked Israel on Oct. 7, killing over 1,400 Israelis. As reported by ProPublica, Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund, a nonprofit based in Kent, Ohio, has raised more than $7.8 million. The group previously raised nearly $21 million in 2021.

Per the New York Post, Emhoff has repeatedly insisted to reporters that she does not see herself as Jewish.

“Ella is not Jewish,” a spokesperson for the second daughter told The Forward in 2021. “It’s not something she grew up with. Ella truly has no qualms with the faith, but she does not want to speak on behalf of Judaism, as she does not celebrate herself.”

“It’s of tremendous concern, and I find it abhorrent,” Rep. Jeff Van Drew (R-NJ) said. “To be honest with you, I am kind of stunned by it. It’s disturbing to the maximum degree.”

President Joe Biden announced in October that the U.S. would send $100 million in “humanitarian aid”  to Palestine. Republicans, however, opposed Biden’s decision due to Hamas’ attack on Israel.

According to Hot Air, demonstrators from across the country held a pro-Palestinian rally in Washington, D.C., and called for a ceasefire and stop aid to Israel. Among the protestors were groups such as the Palestinian Youth Movement, Answer Coalition, American Muslim Alliance, The People’s Forum, and National Students or Justice in Palestine.

Meanwhile, secretary of State Anthony Blinkin met with Egyptian and Jordanian foreign ministers on Saturday. Although Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia are in support of calling for a ceasefire, Blinkin warned that it would only prompt Hamas to regroup and come back stronger.
