Florida State Quarterback Jordan Travis Faces Season-Ending Injury with Acceptance of God’s Plan
Florida State Seminoles quarterback Jordan Travis is making headlines for his faith after he suffered a season-halting leg injury during a game in November.
“At the end of the day, I wish I could be out there with the guys, but God has a different plan for me,” he added. “I’m ready to see whoever goes out today. Just go out there and play ball because I know who they are.”

Travis was tackled at the end of a run during the November game. Travis’ left leg was placed in an air cast, and he was carted off the field in the first quarter following a run up the middle of the 58-13 win over North Alabama.
“Being the quarterback here at Florida State University has been a dream come true. I am humbled, honored, and forever grateful. The journey this team set out on is not over yet, as all of our goals still lie ahead. I am excited to be by my brothers’ sides every day as we continue our attack. We’re all we got, and we’re all we need. The job’s not finished. Go Noles,” he wrote in a statement released from the hospital.

Travis transferred to Florida State in 2019 from Louisville. He became the team’s starting quarterback in the 2021 season.
“Jordan will be talked about forever in this program,” coach Mike Norvell said during his weekly news conference Monday. “It’s not necessarily going to be just about his playing ability. It’s going to be about who he is.
This week, Travis released another statement saying he was “devastated” by the College Football Playoff Committe’s decision not to give one of the four College Football Playoff berths to the undefeated Florida State team.
“In so much disbelief [right now], I wish my leg broke earlier in the season so y’all could see this team is much more than the quarterback. I thought results matter. 13-0, and this roster matches up across any team in those top 4 rankings. I am so sorry. Go Noles!”

Michigan, Washington, Texas, and Alabama were selected for the four spots.
“The argument of whether a team is the ‘most deserving or best’ is a false equivalence,” said Florida State Athletic Director Michael Alford. “It renders the season up to yesterday irrelevant and significantly damages the legitimacy of the College Football Playoff,” Alford said in a statement. “The 2023 Florida State Seminoles are the epitome of a total TEAM. To eliminate them from a chance to compete for a national championship is an unwarranted injustice that shows complete disregard and disrespect for their performance and accomplishments. It is unforgivable.”
