Christmas Cheer: Titans QB Surprises Local Kids with Gifts, 24 Hours after Comeback Win
The rookie quarterback who led the Tennessee Titans to a stunning, come-from-behind win on Monday night took time out of his schedule the next day to help local children purchase Christmas gifts.
Quarterback Will Levis led the Titans to two touchdowns in the final three minutes Monday night for a 28-27 road victory over the Miami Dolphins, making Tennessee the first NFL team this century to overcome a 14-point deficit with three or fewer minutes to play and win in regulation. Prior to the improbable victory, NFL teams trailing by 14 points with less than three minutes on the clock had lost 767 straight games.
Less than 24 hours later, Levis was in a local Nashville mall, handing out $150 gift cards to children from the Boys and Girls Club of Middle Tennessee.
Titans reporter Jim Wyatt posted a video of Levis at the mall on social media Tuesday night, saying the quarterback “surprised” children with a “shopping spree tonight at @jcpenney in Cool Springs mall.”

Levis also signed autographs.
“This is awesome,” Levis said. “I knew I wanted to get out in the community and spread some holiday spirit. … It’s great spending time with them.”
Levis acknowledged he and his teammates don’t have a lot of free time during the football season but added he “wanted to make sure” the kids with the Boys and Girls Club have a memorable Christmas. He wanted to “give them a treat,” he said.
“Making people’s lives better, it just makes you feel better,” he said. “It brings you joy, and when that happens, it just drives you to want to do that even more.”
Some of the children had watched the previous night’s game.
“I’m surprised their parents let them stay up to see the end of it,” he said, smiling. “A couple of them said they fell asleep.”
The Titans drafted Levis out of the University of Kentucky. His Twitter bio lists a Bible verse, 2 Chronicles 15:7, which reads,
“But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.”
