Did Joe Biden Know Hunter Would Violate Republicans’ Congressional Subpoena? The White House Says Yes

The White House admitted on Wednesday that President Joe Biden was “familiar” with his son’s plans to violate a congressional subpoena issued by House Republicans.

The moment came during a White House press conference when Fox News’ Peter Ducey asked Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre about Hunter’s refusal to abide by House Republicans’ subpoena. By subpoenaing the younger Biden, House Republicans sought to compel him to sit for a closed-door deposition hearing where they could dig into Joe’s leading role in the Biden family’s foreign business ventures.

When asked about Hunter’s refusal to testify in the Republicans’ sought-after deposition, Jean-Pierre admitted that Joe was “familiar” with what his son would say during the latter’s Wednesday press conference.

“I don’t have anything else to add. The president was familiar with what Hunter was going to say today and, you know, look, he’s proud of his son … how he’s rebuilding his life back,” Jean-Pierre said. “He’s going to focus on … the American people. Hunter … is a private citizen … I’m just not going to get into private conversations.”

Two sources who spoke with Politico also confirmed the elder Biden had knowledge of the contents of Hunter’s speech.

While speaking before reporters on Wednesday, Hunter dismissed revelations of his involvement in the Bidens’ corruption by playing the victim and accusing those investigating the scandal of “[belittling his] recovery” from drug addiction.

“[T]hey have tried to dehumanize me, all to embarrass my father, who has devoted his entire life to public service,” Hunter whined. “For six years, I have been a target of the unrelenting Trump attack team. ‘Where’s Hunter?’ Well, here’s my answer. I am here.”

But Hunter’s obnoxious speech didn’t come without help from a notable congressional Democrat. It seems that in addition to hooking up with Chinese spies, Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., also specializes in staging grandstanding press conferences for members of America’s corrupt First Family. On Wednesday, Swalwell confirmed to Politico that he “reserved the ‘Senate Swamp’ — a spot mere feet from the Capitol that often hosts press conferences” — for Hunter Biden.

As Jonathan Turley noted in The Messenger, “By staying on the Senate side of the Capitol, Hunter guaranteed that the House sergeant at arms did not pull him into the hearing room.” The younger Biden’s refusal to testify could result in Congress holding him in contempt, thus forcing “the hand of Attorney General Merrick Garland, who aggressively pursued Trump figures for contempt, including former Trump adviser Steve Bannon.”

Despite Democrats’ phony claims and dishonest framing of the situation, House Republicans’ inquiry has never been about Hunter. It’s about exposing how Joe spearheaded and benefited from the Biden family’s foreign influence-peddling operation. Former business associates, IRS and FBI whistleblowers, bank recordstext messagesemails, reporting from a “highly credible” informant, written checks, and even Joe himself have all corroborated different aspects of the latter’s involvement in his family’s corrupt foreign business ventures.

Joe’s involvement in the operation has become so apparent that his and the White House’s narrative has shifted from claiming he never spoke with Hunter about the family business to claiming he was never involved with the business. Both of those claims are verifiably false.
