Thousands of migrants set to arrive in massive, El Paso-bound caravan in just a few days:
A new, 2,000-person migrant caravan is making its way north to the US border — and is expected to reach El Paso, Texas, in just the next few days.
Videos posted online show a swarm of people walking through the streets of southern Mexico on Monday.
In one clip, an apparent leader could be seen encouraging the group through a bullhorn to chant “A la frontera” — meaning “To the border.”
The group proclaimed in Spanish, “We are not criminals, we are international workers.”
Church-run border shelters are preparing for the group’s arrival, as they run out of space to house the thousands of migrants trying to make their way into the United States, according to Border Report.
“We are in contact with people and personnel in migrant shelters in south Mexico,” the Rev. Francisco Bueno Guillen, director of the Casa del Migrante shelter in the border city of Juarez, Mexico, told the news station.
“They saw many people have come into the country recently and are being joined by others already there,” he said. “And yes, they are coming to Juarez.”
He said they are expecting at least 2,000 migrants who set off from Chiapas, Mexico, to arrive in El Paso in the coming days.

2,000+ Migrants in New Government-Assisted Caravan Moving Through Mexico:
More than 2,000 migrants are currently traveling through southern Mexico with the help of government officials and NGOs with the eventual goal of reaching the U.S. border. Calling themselves the Migrant Way of the Cross, the group is currently moving toward Mexico City. From there, the migrants plan to get buses and other means of transportation to eventually reach the U.S.-Mexico border.
The caravan set out on Monday from Chiapas on Mexico’ssouthern border. As they have done in several other caravans, the group at the front of the caravan is carrying a large white wooden cross aimed at showing the hardships faced by migrants on their journey.
As the group moved, Mexican police forces escorted them along roads and controlled traffic.
In some cities where migrants are expected to camp out for the night, officials with Mexico’s National Migration Institute (INM) have been working with NGOs to make preparations.
While the caravan’s goal is to reach the Texas border as with prior caravans. Once they reach Mexico City, the groups routinely disband and board passenger buses and other vehicles to continue their journey. —>READ MORE HERE
