By Media Standards, Joe Biden Is A Terrorist Sympathizer Until He Personally Condemns Antisemitism

President Joe Biden is a terrorist sympathizer until he personally delivers a press conference to condemn antisemitism. Those are the rules established by the White House press corps.

Former President Donald Trump condemned Nazis from the White House podium and corporate media still accused him of being a white supremacist in cahoots with the Ku Klux Klan (KKK). Biden can hide behind a statement from a deputy press secretary to criticize weekend anti-Jew harassment scenes at Columbia University reminiscent of 1930s Germany and none in the press corps ask why he hasn’t addressed the nation to condemn antisemitism himself.

Classes were canceled at Columbia on Monday after antisemitic demonstrations last week continued through the weekend after testimony on Capitol Hill by university leaders. Columbia University President Nemat “Minouche” Shafik appeared before the House Committee on Education and the Workforce alongside three colleagues to answer questions about the school’s commitment to protecting Jewish students amid heightened antisemitism.

“Does calling for the genocide of Jews violate Columbia’s code of conduct?” asked Rep. Suzanne Bonamici, D-Oregon.

“Yes, it does,” said each representative from the school.

Students on the university’s Manhattan campus erupted into protest the same day of the House hearing to chant “intifada,” which means “revolution” or “uprising.” Historically, intifada “uprisings” have included Islamic violence against Jews.

“While every American has the right to peaceful protest, calls for violence and physical intimidation targeting Jewish students and the Jewish community are blatantly Antisemitic, unconscionable, and dangerous — they have absolutely no place on any college campus, or anywhere in the United States of America,” White House deputy press secretary Andrew Bates said in the statement out Sunday afternoon.

By Sunday, when the White House released the statement through Bates, who is not even the principal press secretary, the New York Police Department (NYPD) had arrested and charged more than 100 demonstrators. On Sunday, a Columbia University rabbi pled with the school’s Jewish students to go home, claiming conditions on campus were unsafe.

“It deeply pains me to say that I would strongly recommend you return home as soon as possible and remain home until the reality in and around campus has dramatically improved,” Rabbi Elie Buechler said. “It is not our job as Jews to ensure our own safety on campus. No one should have to endure this level of hatred, let alone at school.”

The generic White House statement from a low-level staffer on the situation at Columbia University remains in stark contrast to President Trump’s repeated condemnations of neo-Nazi white supremacists for years. In 2020, Federalist Senior Editor John Davidson outlined Trump’s “long record of condemning white supremacy.” Every time David Duke, the former grand wizard of the KKK, surfaced in the news cycle, Trump was pressured to comment.

“The press demands Trump condemn white supremacy, Trump condemns it, and the press pretends he didn’t, or that he equivocated, or that he dodged,” Davidson wrote. “No matter how many times Trump condemns and denounces white supremacy, it will never be enough for the mainstream media because the point isn’t to get the president on record, the point is to accuse him of being a racist.”

“When protestors in Dearborn, Michigan and New York chanted ‘Death to America,’” Federalist Reporter Jordan Boyd wrote last week, “all Americans heard from their flailing president and Democrat politicians in Congress was crickets.”

Despite repeatedly condemning white supremacy, Trump still gets headlines depicting him as a racist, a white supremacist, and most recently, a “Christian nationalist” despite the framers’ embrace of biblical values to construct the United States. Yet Biden can completely avoid having to speak about outbursts of racist violence from supporters he needs to stay in the White House.

By corporate media’s standards, then, even if Biden does speak to condemn the ongoing racist violence perpetrated and encouraged by some of his voters, he should be forever labeled a supporter of terrorism and racist violence.
