Mica Miller’s Family Mulls Lawsuit as Documents Reveal Her Husband’s Church Owns $430K Plane
The family of Mica Miler, the wife of Pastor John-Paul Miller of Solid Rock at Market Common in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, plans to file a lawsuit against him. A new report found that the church owns millions in assets, including a private jet estimated to be worth around 430,000. The Daily Mail reported that the church still has about $5.9 million in assets, including four properties and a 2007 Cirrus SR-22 purchased in January 2023.
Although Miller took her own life on April 27, and her body was found at Lumber River State Park in Robeson County, her family alleges that her husband’s abusive behavior likely contributed to her death and have since filed a lawsuit against him. The pastor, however, has refuted these claims.
“I’ve actually been retained to look into that,” Ward told The Post and Courier. “It would take a lot to put that together, but there’s certainly intentional infliction of emotional distress everywhere.”
The lawsuit filed by the family contends that the pastor’s abusive behavior led to her suicide as she wanted to leave the marriage. Ward, who had represented Mica Miller during her bid to separate from her husband before her death, is currently attempting to help her family get custody of her marital property. Pastor Miller, however, is fighting against the move.
Mica’s younger sister, Sierra Miller, said in the lawsuit for the vehicles Mica drove, including her firearms and electronics. Her family also issued a restraining order against Pastor Miller to prevent him from harassing them or releasing any provocative photos of Mica. Additionally, the family wants the pastor to pay for a forensic evaluation.
As reported by The Daily Mail, Francis accused pastor Miller and his church of “colluding” to “defraud and deprive” Mica Miller of her fair share of their home after he sold it to the church. The church currently has four properties with a taxable value of $5.59 million.
Tom Winslow, John-Paul Miller’s attorney in probate court, told The Post and Courier that Pastor Miler should oversee his late wife’s estate and not her family members because Mica did not leave a will for them.
