War update: Fighting most tense in Kurakhove, Pokrovsk, Kramatorsk axes:

Since the beginning of the day, the number of combat clashes has increased to 41, with the battles being most intense in the Kurakhove, Pokrovsk, and Kramatorsk axes.

That’s according to an update by the General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces, Ukrinform reports.

Russian invaders have been most active in the Kurakhove, Pokrovsk, and Kramatorsk directions where the total number of combat encounters has reached 41.

The areas near the border with Russia in Sumy and Chernihiv regions continue to suffer from artillery strikes from across the border.

Russian terrorists also continue to bombard Kharkiv region with gliding bombs from their own territory. Striking from the airspace over Belgorod, Russia targeted the Vovchansk community three times.

Kupiansk axis: the enemy is trying to impose its initiative near Synkivka, Petropavlivka, Stelmakhivka, and Berestove. Ukrainian forces have successfully repelled one attack, and three more clashes are ongoing. At the same time, the invaders hit Kupiansk using two gliding bombs, and three more targeted Ivanivka.

Lyman axis: a battle continues near Hrekivka.

Kramatorsk axis: seven times since the beginning of the day, the invaders attacked Ukraine’s positions. Five assaults have already been repelled but clashes are currently ongoing near Nove and Andriivka. —>READ MORE HERE

Ukraine stabilizes Kharkiv front — CJCS Brown:

Ukrainian forces have managed to stabilize the frontline in northern Kharkiv Oblast following a major Russian offensive in May, U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Charles Brown said on June 13.

Speaking at a meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, he noted that Ukrainian troops are currently fortifying their positions against future potential Russian assaults.

“Regarding Kharkiv, I would say the situation is somewhat more stabilized now than in the last few weeks,” Interfax-Ukraine news agency quotes Brown.

“One of the things the Ukrainians have concentrated on in the past few months and will continue to focus on into 2024 is strengthening their defensive lines.”

He suggested that the Russian offensive ran out of steam because the defending Ukrainian troops were “quite effectively building defensive lines.”

However, he acknowledged the problem when “the Russians advance towards Kharkiv, it distracts the attention and capabilities of the Ukrainians from other regions, spreading their defense even thinner.”

“But we have seen that the Ukrainians are very good at holding the defense, and I think we will continue to see this in the Kharkiv area,” Brown added. —>READ MORE HERE
