Netanyahu to meet relatives of hostages killed in Gaza captivity
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu invited families of those murdered in captivity in Gaza to his home, Israeli media reported on Tuesday.
The invite comes amid criticism against the PM for not having done so while he has met with the families of the hostages who have been rescued.
The meeting is set to be held this week.
Father of Shani Louk won’t attend
Nissim Louk, father of Shani Louk, said he would not attend the meeting.
“I was invited but I said I do not want to attend because it has turned into a circus,” he told The Jerusalem Post.
“When there are burials, when there are disasters, Netanyahu simply disconnects himself. He doesn’t come and doesn’t care,” Louk further stated.
“When there are successes […] he jumps on it,” he noted, adding, “it has become a circus and I do want to partake in circuses.”
Louk also said he was planning on launching a new political party which would be situated between the Likud and Ben-Gvir and Smotrich on the political spectrum. “The time has come for change,” he said.
“The lawlessness in the country in all areas […] should end,” he affirmed.
The Hostages and Missing Families Forum noted that the niece of Michel Nisenbaum, Ayala Harel, had been invited to the meeting.
The bodies of Louk and Nisenbaum were retrieved by the IDF from the Gaza Strip in May.
Louk’s body was recovered alongside Itzik Gelernter’s and Amit Buskila’s.
Nisenbaum’s body was retrieved along with that of Orion Hernandez Radoux and Hanan Yablonka. According to military intelligence, the three had been murdered on October 7 after which their bodies were taken to Gaza.
