Doctors Revolt Against ‘Gender-Affirming’ Child Mutilation In Defense Of Basic Biology:

The American College of Pediatricians (ACPeds) teamed up with the Alliance for Hippocratic Medicine (AHM), the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS), and several other groups of medical professionals to condemn genital mutilation surgeries for minors.

The cohort authored and signed a declaration urging medical professionals to stop asserting that children benefit from the barbarous procedures. The groups’ statement calls for an “immediate[] stop the promotion of social affirmation, puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones and surgeries for children and adolescents who experience distress over their biological sex.”

The groups have coalesced under the organization Doctors Protecting Children (DPC), which is dedicated to making people aware of the “serious concerns about the physical and mental health effects of the current protocols promoted for the care of children and adolescents in the United States who express discomfort with their biological sex.”

“Despite all the above evidence that gender affirming treatments are not only unhelpful, but are harmful, and despite the knowledge that the adolescent brain is immature, professional medical organizations in the United States continue to promote these interventions,” DPC’s statement reads. “Further, they state that legislation to protect children from harmful interventions is dangerous since it interferes with necessary medical care for children and adolescents.” —>READ MORE HERE

Sanity Prevails: American College of Pediatricians Calls on Medical Orgs. to Cease Transitioning Kids:

There’s a reason we don’t allow children to do certain things, and that is simply because they lack the maturity and perspective to make some decisions rationally. This goes back as far as Western civilization; even the ancient Romans made a boy attain a certain age before he could take on the role of a man.

We don’t let children sign contracts, for example. We don’t let them join the military (although they can join at 17 with parental approval, last I checked). We don’t let them buy guns. We don’t let them vote. We don’t even let them buy a beer.

So why people think kids should be allowed to make irreversible, life-changing decisions involving hormone treatments and surgery is utterly baffling and wrong. Fortunately, the American College of Pediatricians agrees and has put out a statement to that effect:

A group of pediatricians, medical organizations, and policy organizations have signed a declaration urging a stop to the promotion of harmful interventions on children with gender dysphoria.

The group, as part of a coalition of healthcare professionals, has formed a group called Doctors Protecting Children, and DPC explained its statement in a press conference on Thursday.
