‘Second biggest financiers of terrorism,’ Yair Netanyahu accuses Qatar during conference

Yair Netanyahu, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s son, accused Qatar’s leader of being among the biggest financiers of terrorism following Iran at a conference of the Evangelical Church in Florida on Sunday.

In a recording exposed on Walla, Netanyahu’s son attacked Qatar, while they served as central mediators in the deal to release the hostages in Gaza and as the negotiations were reaching a critical point.

“You have another sponsor of terrorism, which is Qatar,” Netanyahu junior argued. He then added, “It is a rich country that, for some reason, is given the red carpet treatment in Washington and New York, but they are the second biggest financiers of terrorism in the world after Iran,” said Yair Netanyahu according to the recording.

He added that Qatar is the largest donor to universities in the US, where, according to him, extreme left-wing organizations that protest against Israel are located.

In quotes published on Ynet, Netanyahu’s son said, “In the last decade, there is something in the mainstream media, the left in Israel, the US, and Europe that breaks all the rules of the game, of political discourse, has given up on [respectful] discussions, and only wants to return to their communist Marxist roots of trying not to debate their political opponent but to imprison him, incite against him, and they are trying to kill him.”

He further claimed that the “real objective” of extreme left-wing organizations was to “undermine the social fabric,” stating that Israel is an “experiment to see how much this army of thugs will operate.”

‘Risk not only to distant Israel’

The prime minister’s son added: “This is very dangerous for the Western world, it’s very dangerous for America, it’s dangerous for freedom. We cannot let this continue. Unfortunately, it’s also happening in Israel. And it is also related to what we have seen in the last six months or so in American colleges, this breaking of norms, of cultural norms, of manners, of being a decent human being.”

“I hope that what happened [on Saturday] (the assassination attempt on Trump) will be a wake-up call for ordinary Americans who are not very involved in politics and are not aware of what is happening.

“Maybe now they will understand that it is a risk not only to distant Israel or Republicans or something like that, but it is a risk to every American, that violence and hatred against this country and the values of this country will become mainstream and will become central.”

After the Prime Minister’s son spoke out against Qatar, a Qatari diplomat told Walla that his remarks were lies and irresponsible nonsense. He added, “At this sensitive juncture in the negotiations, such statements can only complicate matters.”
