Over 100 combat clashes over the past day: General Staff reports on the hottest areas

There have been 107 combat clashes on the line of contact since the beginning of the day on 18 July. The military consider the Pokrovsk, Kurakhove and Toretsk fronts to be the most intense.

Quote: “Over the last 24 hours, the enemy has launched two missile attacks using three missiles, 54 airstrikes (using 65 guided aerial bombs) and 411 kamikaze drones on the territory of Ukraine. The enemy fired almost 3,000 times on Ukrainian positions and settlements.

On the Kharkiv front , the enemy conducted eight attacks near Hlyboke and Vovchansk. All the attacks were successfully repelled by Ukrainian defenders. Based on preliminary estimates, the aggressor’s losses today amount to 72 servicemen (killed and wounded), and our troops have destroyed three artillery systems, an armoured personnel carrier, six vehicles, three pieces of special equipment and 11 UAVs, and have damaged five artillery systems and three cars.

On the Kupiansk front , the enemy made 11 attempts to advance to Ukrainian positions near Synkivka, Stelmakhivka, Berestove and Pishchane during the day. Six of the enemy’s attacks were successfully repelled by the defence forces. The fighting continues.

On the Lyman front , the enemy conducted 13 attacks in the areas of Makiivka, Nevske, Torske and Terny. Four combat clashes are still ongoing; all the others were stopped by our troops. The Russian occupiers’ losses are being established.”

Military: Russian army continues unsuccessful attacks near Hlyboke in Kharkiv region

Russians continue to attack near Hlyboke with assault groups unsuccessfully. They are trying to rebuild the units that have lost their combat capability, the “Kharkiv” group of forces reported.

Russia started its new offensive north and northeast in the Kharkiv region in May, but Ukrainian troops have stabilized the frontline in this section since. Now, heavy battles are ongoing in and around Vovchansk (three miles from the border, 46 miles away from Kharkiv) and near Lyptsi (six miles from the border, 12 miles from Kharkiv.)

“Kharkiv” group of forces reported that, currently, Russia is preparing assault groups of three brigades for attacks in Vovchansk. The situation is under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

In total, during the day, the Russians launched 21 air strikes against Ukrainian troops’ positions, using 26 glide bombs (KABs). They attacked near Hlyboke, Lyptsi, Mali Prokhody, and Starytsia. The Russian military also conducted 32 strikes with kamikaze drones and fired 483 times at Ukrainian positions.

Over the past day, the Russian army lost 124 people, one armored personnel carrier, and 14 artillery systems in the Kharkiv direction, the military reported.

The Ukrainian military destroyed one Russian anti-tank vehicle, seven vehicles, three units of special equipment, 16 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), 92 shelters, and two UAV launch positions. —>READ MORE HERE
